Heres What Everyone Should Know About The Lexus NX

The Lexus NX is ready to get back in the game with its new model: the modernized Lexus NX. The car has more streamlined styling—it features a windshield with a more aggressive rake and LED headlamps. This is what you need to know about the new Lexus NX:

Engine and performance

The freshly-minted NX comes with four powertrain options, including two hybrid ones:

-NX250

The base NX250 has a 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder attached to an eight-speed automatic. You can get either a front-wheel or an all-wheel drive.

-NX350

A 275-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter engine, which also comes with an eight-speed automatic, powers the NX350. This variant has an all-wheel drive.

-NX350h

The NX350h, which has an all-wheel drive, pairs two electric motors with the 239-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder.

-NX450h+

The NX450h+ has a 302-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain and an all-wheel drive.

Interior, cargo, and comfort

The new NX uses classier materials, which add to its modern look. The passenger room space of the new NX is slightly less than the outgoing model’s. You can opt for features such as black open-pore wood trim, an ambient interior lighting system with 64 different color choices, heated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Fuel economy

While the EPA is yet to confirm the fuel ratings of the NX, Lexus claims the NX450h+ will yield up to 36 miles of electric driving per charge.

Safety and driver-assistance features

The Lexus NX has various standard driver-assistance features, including:

– standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist

– standard adaptive cruise control

– standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection

Maintenance and warranty coverage

Lexus offers one of the most comprehensive protection packages. The coverage includes the following:

– 10,000-mile or one-year complimentary maintenance coverage

– limited warranty coverage of 50,000 miles or four years

– powertrain warranty coverage of 70,000 miles or six years

– hybrid component warranty coverage of 100,000 miles or eight years

Connectivity and infotainment

The NX comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system—the base models have a 9.8-inch display, and the high-end ones have a 14-inch unit. The NX also comes with a standard 10-speaker stereo system. Both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are compatible with the infotainment setup.

All things considered, the Lexus NX offers tough competition to rival small luxury-brand SUVs like the Audi Q3, the Mercedes-Benz GLA-class, and the BMW X1.
