Excellent off-road capabilities, smooth ride quality, composed handling, comfortable interiors, intuitive tech… what more could the Jeep Grand Cherokee possibly offer? Well, the new iteration also boasts a redesign. While it is priced higher than other mid-sized SUVs in the segment and has a smaller cargo hold, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has a lot to offer.
Handling and interiors
For starters, it handles well and drives comfortably even off-road. It also has luxury interiors and two rows of spacious seating for up to five.
Safety ratings
The SUV also does well in safety ratings. The Jeep Grand Cherokee holds the highest rating across four crash safety tests from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Additionally, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s ratings for rear-wheel-drive models and four-wheel-drive models are four out of five stars and five out five stars, respectively.
Performance
When it comes to competition, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a class leader in several aspects. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is bigger, with three-row seating and more cargo space. The Dodge Durango, which comes in two- and three-row models, has a range of Hemi v8 Engines with more horsepower than any of the Grand Cherokee engines. However, the Grand Cherokee is unmatched when it comes to off-road capabilities.
Technology
For infotainment, Bluetooth, and navigation, the grand Cherokee uses the intuitive Uconnect interface. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay allow you to sync any device to the car wirelessly. The front passenger side touch screen is a thoughtful feature that can be used for entertainment or to send navigation details to the driver. Also on offer is the dual or quad-zone automatic climate control with a push button or a remote start and a sunroof or a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
Fuel efficiency
With the Standard V6 engine, you can do 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, and the engine is sufficiently powerful. The V8 engine has a more robust sound and throttle response and boasts 22mpg on the highway and 14 mpg in the city.
The vehicle has a towing capability of 7,200 pounds. It also has agile handling and sharp steering, making it easy to drive in the traffic-choked city or on spacious country roads.
The redesigned Jeep Grand Cherokee is a great off-roader. Its upgrade in luxury interiors, superior tech, and on-road refinement make it a great player in the SUV market.
