The Ford F-150 has been a bestseller in the United States for over 40 years. Everyone knows the F-150. It’s available with V6 and V8 engines, along with three different bed and cab options. It competes against the most competent trucks in the market, like the Ram 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. There’s even a fully electric model called the F-150 Lightning.
Gone are the days when trucks were simple but hardy work machines. Today, luxury and tech are part of the norm. The comfortable and capable Ford F-150 does well in these areas. Whether empty or loaded, its ride is refined, and the 400hp twin-turbo V6 has the grunt to tow and haul with ease.
The cabin is impressive too. There’s a lot of legroom for rear passengers, and the flat floor allows easy cargo hauling. While the 12.0-inch touchscreen is user-friendly and the Pro Power Onboard generator is a great option, prices can add up really quickly when you opt for additional features. That said, it’s a good option to have.
Here’s what’s new with the Ford F-150:
– The F-150 Raptor R gets a 70hp 5.2-liter supercharged V8
– The F-150 Tremor gets a standard 5.0-liter V8
– There are new Rattler and Heritage Edition packages
– The following exterior colors have been discontinued: Area 51 Blue, Avalanche, Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Smoked Quartz Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Space White Metallic.
– The F-150 Lariat will not be available in the Super Cab configuration.
New Rattler Package: If you’re an off-roader looking for an affordable F-150, this is the package for you. It’s based on the lower-cost XL trim and comes with standard 4WD. It also has off-road shock absorbers, electronic rear-locking differential, hill descent control, special skid plates, and all-terrain tires from the FX4 off-road package. It may have fewer frills than high-end versions, but it still gets onyx seats and interior bronze accents. On the outside, there are rattlesnake graphics and a dual-exhaust system. Color options available are Oxford White, Avalanche, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Antimatter Blue, Stone Gray, Agate Black, and Rapid Red TriCoat.
Heritage Edition: Ford has also released a Heritage Edition to commemorate the F-Series’ 75th anniversary. The two-tone exterior color options on this vehicle are reminiscent of Ford trucks from the 1970s and 1980s.
