Reviewed – The All-New Honda Accord

SUVs and crossovers are popular choices today. However, car buyers should also take a look at the Honda Accord sedan. The Accord can do almost everything an average compact crossover can do. What’s noteworthy is its nimble handling, which makes it a thrill to drive on twisting roads.

The Accord has a large trunk and enough space for four adults to ride comfortably, making it  ideal for long road trips. Its intuitive infotainment system and standard driver-assistance features make it even more appealing.

Engine, transmission, and performance

The base engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 192 hp, but most enthusiasts will prefer the 252-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. While both engines are smooth, the 2.0-liter one offers enough power in the first gear to spin the front tires smoothly. Its hybrid model is powered by two electric motors and a four-cylinder gasoline engine.

The Accord’s chassis delivers a great driving experience, and it encourages the driver to push the car hard through corners, where only minimal body roll is felt. The car’s steering is easy to manage, as it befits its status in its class. The Accord’s ride is firm but not harsh, which makes it suitable for both family and sports car buyers.

Interior, comfort, and cargo

The Accord’s interior is surprisingly roomy, and rear-seat passengers will appreciate the extra space in this mid-size sedan.

Honda’s no-options trim structure implies that almost all the features cater to the driver. Accord sedans come well-equipped with stylish interior furnishings and some creature comforts. The top trim models, like the Touring, feature a head-up display, heated rear seats, and heated and cooled leather front seats, while the lower trim levels come with their own attractive features—attractive interior trim and comfortable cloth seats.

The Accord has more cargo space than any other car in its class, and its hybrid version doesn’t sacrifice any of that room.

Connectivity and infotainment

All Honda Accord models feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability. The system is attractive and easy to use–even those not so well-versed with tech will find it intuitive.

The EX-L model of the Accord offers a 10-speaker premium audio system with a 450-watt amplifier, but the lower range models have either a four- or eight-speaker system.
